Profile of a Mentee

A Hope for Tomorrow Mentee is a student who:

  • Cares about school but may be struggling to realize their potential
  • Could benefit from another positive adult role model
  • Will benefit from the reinforcement of life skills critical to personal and academic success
  • Expresses interest in thinking and talking about personal and academic goals
  • Is willing to interact and share with his or her mentor on a variety of topics and issues, in addition to participating in small and large group activities
  • Will appreciate the learning opportunities offered throughout the year, both in school sessions and off-campus visits
  • Has good attendance and no drug issues
  • Refrains from behaviors that would disrupt group dynamics
  • Can commit to attending all monthly Hope for Tomorrow sessions during the school year
  • Is interested in Hope for Tomorrow for his or her own benefit and not because a friend may be participating or only to get out of class
